Too Many Children are Injured or Killed on SC Roads

“Greenville County children are our future and our roads are how they’ll travel to create it!!”

TOO MANY CHILDREN ARE INJURED OR KILLED ON SC ROADS

•       Motor vehicle collisions are the leading cause of accidental deaths in children ages one to nine in South Carolina.

•       One child under age six is killed or seriously injured in a car accident in South Carolina every 5.8 days.

•       One teen driver between the age of 15 and 19 is killed or seriously injured in a car accident every 1.5 hours.

•       158 children between the ages of 0 and 19 were killed or seriously injured in car accidents in 2023.

•       The fatality rate in South Carolina from car accidents is twice that of the national average.

Automated Road Safety Technology (ARST) can save lives. It has been proven to reduce traffic fatalities, but South Carolina is one of only six states that bans its use.

YOU CAN CHANGE THIS!

HOW?

  • Ask your legislative representative to support Automated Road Safety Cameras (ARSC), proven to reduce fatalities and increase road safety. SC is 1 of only 6 states that ban these cameras.
